Genie Terms of Service

Welcome to Genie! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Mindsmith Apps LLC (“Mindsmith,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). They explain how you can use the Genie app and related services (“Genie,” “the App,” or “the Service”).

By creating an account or using Genie, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

• Parents (18+) create and manage accounts for their children.

1. About Genie

Genie is owned and operated by Mindsmith Apps LLC, registered in California, USA.

Our mission is to help families balance screen time and learning through a positive, reward-based system.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account.
• Genie may be used by children under 13 under their parent or guardian’s supervision.
• Parents are responsible for their child’s use of Genie and any activity under their account.
• When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all actions that occur under your account.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

• Genie is a subscription-based service.
• Subscriptions are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store using RevenueCat.
• Prices, billing periods, and renewal terms are shown in-app before purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Refunds are managed directly by Apple or Google, in accordance with their respective refund policies.

If you delete your Genie account, your app-store subscription will not automatically cancel — you must cancel it through your app-store settings.

4. Data and Privacy

We collect only the information needed to provide the service, including:

• Parent’s email
• Child’s age
• App usage data

We use this information to personalize your experience, track progress, and improve Genie.

We do not share or sell your personal information.

5. User Conduct

To keep Genie safe and positive, you agree to:

• Use the app only for lawful purposes.
• Not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service.
• Not reverse engineer, copy, or resell any part of Genie.

Genie does not allow user-generated content, public messaging, or uploads of any kind.

6. Account Deletion

You may request to delete your account and data at any time by contacting hello@ourgenie.app or using in-app settings.

Once deleted, your personal data and child profiles will be permanently removed, except as required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

All content in Genie — including logos, graphics, designs, and code — is owned by Mindsmith Apps LLC.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of Genie without written permission.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Genie is provided “as is” and “as available.”

While we do our best to keep everything accurate and reliable, we make no guarantees that Genie will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Mindsmith Apps LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of Genie.
• Parents are responsible for monitoring and guiding their child’s use of the app.

9. Arbitration and Governing Law

Any disputes or claims related to these Terms or Genie will be resolved through binding arbitration, not in court, except where prohibited by law.

• Arbitration will take place in California, USA, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
• You and Mindsmith Apps LLC agree to resolve disputes individually — not as part of a class action.
• These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or business practices.

If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.

Your continued use of Genie after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
